Leading investments at Gerber is Geoffrey Hulme. Geoff guides communication efforts related to the markets, and is involved with how Gerber’s clients allocate their investment capital. He also curates and monitors the investment options that Gerber offers their clients.

Geoff is excited to join Gerber because of the company’s great reputation. He believes Randy has built a strong team and platform to serve his clients. Geoff looks forward to helping clients secure positive financial outcomes. He spends his days researching investments, studying the markets for opportunities, and strategizing with colleagues.

Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, Geoff started investing in the stock market at age 14 and had his own lawn care business at age 15. After graduating from college, he worked at a small hedge fund in New York City. Before he left the buy side, he spent 25 years as a Director of Research and analyst at investment funds based in The Big Apple. He started his own investment vehicle, Steel Valley Capital LLC, in 2016. It is named for the Youngstown/Warren region. He met Randy and Emily 14 years ago during an Ohio State football weekend in Los Angeles. When he moved back to Ohio 4 years ago, he and Randy got back in touch, and the rest is history!

Geoff has served on the Finance Department Advisory council at his alma mater, Villanova University, for over 10 years. He also lectured in the “Art of Value Investing” class. He serves as a judge at an annual student stock picking contest held at Columbia’s Business School in New York.

When Geoff isn’t at work, he’s spending time with his wife, Daryl, and their 3 boys. He has always loved cars, and enjoys driving around the farmlands or watching races. He has driven nearly 10,000 miles through the American West, Southwest, and Canada in vintage sports car rallies. He loves his wife’s cooking, cheering on the Buckeyes, and traveling to see the Dave Matthews Band and U2 perform.
