Allen joined Great Lakes Advisors in 2021 as a Managing Director and Portfolio Specialist. He works closely with our Disciplined Equity investment team as a key liaison between portfolio management and relationship management teams within the firm and our clients. Prior to joining GLA, he spent nearly a decade with Raymond James Financial in their Asset Management Group in a variety of different roles. 

Prior to joining Raymond James, Allen earned his B.S. in Finance from Florida State University. While attending FSU, Allen was an active member of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity and participated in the annual Dance Marathon fundraiser, supporting the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since graduation, Allen has remained active in philanthropic activities generally surrounding underprivileged youth. He was a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, spent weekly meetings with a 2nd grader as an active participant in Lunch Pals of Pinellas County, and sponsored a team of high school students for the Wharton Global High School Youth Program Investment Competition. 

While working at Raymond James, Allen spent time in a variety of different roles spanning back office, front office, project management, and committee leads. Most recently, Allen was working with the firm’s investment committee and had an active role in product development, advisor outreach, and education. He was also elected by the firm’s executive committee to lead a Diversity & Inclusion network and champion an inclusive environment among employees. 

Family & Education are at the center of Allen’s core values and he has continued to seek higher education since completing his B.S. at FSU. He has acquired both the Series 7 & 66 FINRA registrations, is a CFA charterholder, and most recently completed his Masters in Business Administration at the Hough School of Business at the University of Florida. In his free time, Allen enjoys travelling the United States with his wife and two small children, and spoiling his 5 nieces.
